Palm Tree Productions Music

Crossover should expand the artist, not erase the source.

We help artists combine African, Caribbean, Latin, pop and R&B influences by defining the core identity, bridge elements, context and audience.

    The Objective

The objective is not to combine recognizable ingredients at random. It is to understand which rhythmic, melodic, vocal and cultural elements are essential to the artist, which serve the song and which make a new listener curious enough to enter.

    Begin with the core

Which language, rhythm, story, vocal behavior or cultural experience is inseparable from the artist? That layer should not be negotiated away simply to appear accessible.

    Choose the bridge

Structure, hook, harmony, mix, collaboration or visual framing can give unfamiliar listeners an entry point. A bridge supports the core; it does not replace it.

    Identify decoration

Ask whether a drum pattern, accent, instrument, location or styling choice carries understanding or merely signals "global." Remove what cannot survive that question.

    Collaborate where needed

Research cannot replace lived and musical expertise. Bring in appropriately credited writers, musicians, language reviewers or cultural collaborators.
